Round 2 of the TSR Autumn Multiclass 2026 season took the field to Circuit de la Sarthe Mulsanne for a two-hour run that, on paper at least, offered stability: sunshine at lights out, a dry track, and changing cloud rather than changing grip as the race wore on.
The headline in LMP2 was clear enough. Ciro Iadicicco put the #79 Oreca 07 ELMS on pole, won the race, and set the fastest lap in class. Behind him, though, Le Mans did what Le Mans often does in multiclass racing: it rewarded those who kept moving forwards, with Asim Tugay and Tomas Stanek making the largest gains among the prototypes.
The GT races had their own shape. Doğaç Eray came through to win LMGT3 - AM in the #78 BMW M4 LMGT3, with the top two split by 12.840s, while Emanuele Ciancio gave the #7 BMW M4 LMGT3 a commanding LMGT3 - PRO victory from pole and also took the class fastest lap.
LMP2 ELMS - PRO/AM podium
🥇 Ciro Iadicicco – #79 Oreca 07 ELMS
🥈 Asim Tugay – #93 Oreca 07 ELMS
🥉 Christian Rivi – #66 Oreca 07 ELMS
Iadicicco’s race was as complete as it looks on the timing sheet. His pole lap was a 3:12.110, and in the race he completed 36 laps in 2:01:38.918, adding the fastest LMP2 lap with a 3:13.936. Asim Tugay was the closest finisher, 58.700s back, but his drive was notable for a climb from P10 on the grid to second place.
Christian Rivi completed the podium in the #66 Oreca, finishing 1:44.780 behind the winner after starting P6 and carrying a 20s time penalty. Tomas Stanek was fourth after gaining nine places from P13, with ercan gözbulut fifth. Further back, Luca Sallustro set a 3:14.449 but finished eighth, while Mallt Belling, fatih DOGAN, Emanuele Mastro Battista and Simon Steele were all classified several laps down. Eren Ertürk did not start.
LMGT3 - AM podium
🥇 Doğaç Eray – #78 BMW M4 LMGT3
🥈 Edmunds Simanis – #9 Lexus RC F GT3
🥉 Francesco Perrelli – #92 BMW M4 LMGT3
Doğaç Eray had shown the pace in qualifying with a 3:41.907 to head the LMGT3 - AM session, and he turned that into the class win over 32 laps. Edmunds Simanis kept the pressure within reach in the #9 Lexus RC F GT3 and finished 12.840s behind, with Francesco Perrelli third in the #92 BMW M4 LMGT3, 25.600s off the winner after gaining eight places from his starting position.
There were strong recovery drives throughout the class. Hassan Armien Armien moved up nine places to fourth, and Per Tufvesson did the same to take fifth, also setting the fastest LMGT3 - AM race lap with a 3:41.791. Richard Veenema was sixth, Mike Landreth seventh and a lap down, while Ranjiv Kalsi completed 18 laps. José Alves did not start.
LMGT3 - PRO podium
🥇 Emanuele Ciancio – #7 BMW M4 LMGT3
🥈 fatih sarı – #10 Lamborghini Huracan GT3
🥉 Xander Huizing – #69 Ferrari 296 GT3
Emanuele Ciancio was the benchmark in LMGT3 - PRO from the start. His 3:41.062 secured pole, and he followed it with a 33-lap race win in 2:05:11.238. He also recorded the fastest lap in class, a 3:41.863, which was only 0.009s quicker than fatih sarı’s best of 3:41.872.
Sarı finished second in the #10 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, one lap down, while Xander Huizing gained two places to take third in the #69 Ferrari 296 GT3. Eduardo Daroca was fourth, Alan Axon climbed seven places to fifth, and Mehmet Şenocak gained four to finish sixth. Ian Paskin, third in qualifying, came home seventh, with BF81 Niğdem a non-starter.
Championship picture
In LMP2 ELMS - PRO/AM, Iadicicco’s second major score leaves him on 72 points and with a 27-point lead over Tugay, who is now second on 45. Stanek sits third on 42, one point ahead of Sallustro on 41, with Jonas Knoefel fifth on 38.
LMGT3 - AM remains close at the top. Perrelli leads with 55 points after his podium at Le Mans, while Simanis is seven points behind on 48. Tufvesson is third on 39, only one point ahead of Landreth, with Armien Armien fifth on 36.
In LMGT3 - PRO, Ciancio’s win moves him to 66 points, five clear of Huizing on 61. Sarı’s second place puts him third in the standings on 41, with Şenocak close behind on 40 and Axon fifth on 31.
Martin's strategy notes
LMP2 was decided by clean pace at the front. Iadicicco had pole, the race win and the fastest class lap. That is the full set, and the final margin of 58.700s shows how difficult it was for anyone else to bring him back over 36 laps.
The best gains came from patience and survival. Tugay gained eight places to finish second in LMP2, while Stanek gained nine to finish fourth. In LMGT3 - AM, Armien Armien, Tufvesson and Landreth each gained nine places from their starting positions.
Penalties mattered but did not overturn the LMP2 podium. Rivi carried a 20s time penalty and still finished third, 20.859s ahead of Stanek in fourth on the final classification.
The GT PRO fastest laps were almost inseparable. Ciancio’s 3:41.863 was the class best, but Sarı’s 3:41.872 was only 0.009s slower. Over the full race distance, though, Ciancio was the only LMGT3 - PRO driver to complete 33 laps.
Next up is Round 3 at Silverstone on Monday 28 September 2026 at 18:30 UTC. Until then, you can read the full results and the championship standings.
