Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Transatlantic Sim Racing (“TSR”, “we”, “us”) collects through tsracing.club, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. TSR is a sim racing community run by volunteers, and we are the data controller for the personal data described here. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
The short version
- You can browse the site and use the Race Strategy tool without signing in.
- If you sign in, you do it with Steam. We never see or store your Steam password.
- Championship entry lists, results and race information are public on this site, as they are on The SimGrid.
- We don't sell your data, we don't show adverts and we don't use analytics or tracking cookies.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, at any time.
1. Information we collect
When you sign in with Steam
- Your Steam ID, which Steam sends to us when you sign in.
- Your public Steam profile details: Steam name, avatar and, only if you have made it public on Steam, your real name.
- The date you first signed in and when you last signed in.
- Your nationality, if you or a TSR admin add it, so a flag can be shown next to your name.
When you take part in our championships
- Your entry details from The SimGrid, where championship registration happens: driver name, SimGrid ID, team, car, car number, class and nationality.
- Race and qualifying results, lap times, penalties and championship points.
- Custom livery links you submit for your car, and the livery image we fetch from that link.
When you use site features
- Incident reports: the race, lap, corner, drivers involved, your description and any video link you provide.
- Race reports: the qualifying and race comments you submit.
- Saved race strategies: the strategy name and settings you choose to save, linked to your Steam ID.
Collected automatically
- Error and security logs: if something goes wrong on a page, or a request is blocked for security reasons, we log the page address, the time, your IP address, your browser’s user agent and, if you are signed in, your Steam ID. We do not log normal page visits.
- Server logs: like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time and browser) for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies: see section 6.

3. What is public
Entry lists, results, standings, penalties, liveries and race information are shown publicly on this site, so drivers and viewers can follow the championships. This includes driver names, teams, cars, nationality flags and lap times. Incident reports, race reports and saved strategies are not public: incident and race reports are seen by TSR stewards and admins, and saved strategies are only visible to you.
4. Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent personal data. We only share it with these services, which we use to run TSR:
- Valve (Steam): handles sign-in, and gives us your public profile details.
- The SimGrid: championship registration, entry lists and ratings.
- Discord: our community server, where race information and announcements are posted.
- Our hosting provider: stores the website and database.
- The authorities, but only if the law requires it.
Steam, The SimGrid and Discord have their own privacy policies, which apply to your accounts with them.
5. International transfers
Some of the services above (such as Steam and Discord) are based in the United States. When data is shared with them, it is protected by the safeguards those companies provide, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
6. Cookies
We only use cookies that the site needs in order to work, so we don’t ask for consent for them:
| Cookie |
Purpose |
How long |
| .TSRAUTH |
Keeps you signed in after you sign in with Steam |
30 days from your last visit, or until you sign out |
| __AntiXsrfToken |
Security: protects forms from cross-site request forgery |
Until you close your browser |
Third-party content: our footer shows our Discord server (a Discord widget) and our Instagram feed (through SnapWidget), and the site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When these load, your browser connects to those services, which can see your IP address and may set their own cookies. Links to YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, TikTok, our shop and our partners take you to other sites with their own privacy policies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the cookies above, you won’t be able to sign in.
7. How long we keep it
- Your sign-in record: while you continue to use the site. Ask us and we will delete it.
- Saved strategies: until you delete them, or your account is deleted.
- Error and security logs: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Incident and race reports: for the season they relate to, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case of appeals or repeat issues.
- Results, standings and penalties: kept as the history of our championships. If you ask us to, we will remove or anonymise your name where we reasonably can.
Deleted data may remain in backups for a short time until those backups are replaced.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict how we use your data;
- object to us using your data on the basis of legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email us (see section 11). We will reply within one month and won’t charge you. We may need to confirm your identity first, for example by asking you to sign in with the same Steam account.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Keeping your data safe
Sign-in is handled by Steam, so we never store passwords. The site is served only over HTTPS, the database is not open to the public and only TSR admins can access the admin tools. If you think your data has been misused or accessed without permission, please tell us straight away.
10. Children
The site is not aimed at children. You need a Steam account to sign in, and Steam requires users to be at least 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Contact us
For any privacy questions or requests, email Admin@tsracing.club. You can also message a TSR admin on our Discord server, but please use email for formal requests.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the site or the way we use data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change, we will also post about it on Discord.
