Round 4 - Qatar details

Track Qatar Short Circuit
Circuit Length 3.701 km (2.300 miles)
Turns 11

The shorter 11-turn configuration of the Lusail International Circuit offers a fast and engaging challenge that highlights the venue's flowing character while creating close, action-packed racing. Featuring a condensed layout with a mix of sweeping high-speed corners, technical braking zones, and a long straight, the circuit rewards precision, commitment, and strong racecraft from drivers across both GT3 and Hypercar categories.

Designed to maintain the essence of Lusail's world-class facilities and modern circuit design, the shorter layout places a greater emphasis on traffic management, overtaking opportunities, and maintaining momentum through its sequence of fast corners. The smooth surface and generous track width encourage wheel-to-wheel competition, while the demanding nature of the layout keeps teams focused on setup, tire management, and consistency throughout the race.

Racing under Lusail's iconic floodlights, competitors must also contend with the unique challenges of the Qatari desert environment. Evolving track conditions, changing temperatures, and occasional sand on the racing surface can significantly affect grip levels and strategy decisions as day transitions into night.

Combining high-speed excitement with technical complexity, the 11-turn Lusail circuit delivers an intense endurance racing experience while showcasing the spectacular atmosphere and futuristic backdrop that have made the venue one of the standout destinations in international motorsport.

TSR Spring Cup Powered by Coach Dave Delta

Get ready for a proper test of skill, strategy and consistency as Transatlantic Sim Racing (TSR) proudly presents the Spring Cup in Le Mans Ultimate. This seven-round championship, featuring eight races, will see drivers take on some of the most iconic circuits in world motorsport in a full season of LMGT3 competition. With mixed race lengths, changing conditions at selected rounds, and close multi-class style racing, every point will need to be earned.

A True GT3 Challenge

Racing takes place on Monday evenings in the European time zone, bringing together drivers from both sides of the Atlantic for a competitive but welcoming championship.Success in the Spring Cup will require far more than outright pace. Drivers will need to manage tyres, fuel and pressure across the season, make smart strategic calls, and keep calm when conditions change. Some rounds will feature variable weather, adding another layer of challenge where adaptability could be the difference between victory and disappointment. To keep the championship competitive for all abilities,

Drivers will compete in two classes: PRO and AM (Race Direction may swap classes after round 1 if you are obviously in the wrong class, you should have a good idea where you fit in, but using Spa as an example 2:22.00 average race pace should be AM)

Whether you are fighting for outright wins or class honours, there will be something to race for at every round.

Jero Calleja missed his braking point and collided with Xander Huizing.
10s Penalty to Jero Calleja, avoidable contact
The stewards reviewed the replay footage and determined that although Xander Huizing was fuel saving and coasting into the corner, Jero Calleja had been following closely for several laps and had consistently observed Huizing's braking and slowing points. On this occasion, Calleja failed to brake appropriately and made contact with Huizing. The incident was therefore deemed avoidable.

Burim Myrtaj attempted an overtake on Alan Axon, making contact after a late move under braking.
10pts championsip deduction, Avoidable Contact
The stewards reviewed all available footage and concluded that Alan was not at fault for the incident, having maintained a single, predictable racing line throughout the approach to the corner. Burim Myrtaj made a late move into the braking zone, causing contact that also involved two additional cars As this occurred on Lap 1, greater caution was expected. Due to the avoidable nature of the incident and its consequences, a harsher penalty was applied Championship points have been deducted as Burim failed to continue in the event following the incident.
